Magnolia Plantation Proposal

Rebecca wanted to plan the perfect proposal for her girlfriend, Kelsie.  We planned for months leading up to December 7th. She picked the perfect location: the long bridge at Magnolia Plantation, and I set to work mapping out where they would walk to, where myself and my second shooters would hide, etc.

The day of the proposal, I met Laura and Charles at Magnolia and we made a plan.  But first we had to stop at the fabulous petting zoo.  🙂

Right on time, Rebecca and Kelsie walked into the middle of the bridge, took a selfie, and Rebecca got down on one knee.  It was a perfect Charleston proposal!

Afterwards we walked around the grounds of the plantation and did a mini engagement session.  Congrats, Rebecca + Kelsie!

White Point Gardens Proposal | Cody + Kelsie

Cody’s mom contacted me in November when she was tasked with finding the perfect proposal photographer for her son and his girlfriend while they were in Charleston.  As I looked at the weekend forecast – another wet one – Cody and I began planning how his secret proposal would go down.  He planned to take Kelsie on a bike ride Saturday morning from their hotel (The Vendue) to Waterfront Park and finally to White Point Gardens where I would be waiting.  The forecast looked worse and worse so we changed the date to Friday afternoon.  I think Cody was relieved to get it over with earlier in their trip so he could relax!

I contacted 2 trusted photographer friends and we hid behind live oaks and tried to blend in with tourists.  Right on cue, Cody and Kelsie rode up and strolled through the live oaks to the spot I had marked for him with 2 sticks.

Afterwards they toasted with champagne and we walked around South of Broad and took some engagement photos.

Congrats, Cody + Kelsie!

Special thanks to Rick Dean and Charles Merry for second shooting this happy moment!

A Folly Beach Engagement | Anna-Morgan + Greg

High-school sweethearts, Anna-Morgan + Greg, wanted to have their engagement photos taken at the far east end of Folly Beach, near the Morris Island Lighthouse.  They fought sand gnats and the threat of rain, but were blessed with a dreamy sky and perfect lighting.

She said yes! | A Charleston Proposal

Drew contacted me a few weeks ago because he planned to propose to his girlfriend while they were vacationing in Charleston.  We emailed and texted and hashed out a plan to meet at Hampton Park.  With my second shooters and I hiding behind trees we captured Drew’s sweet proposal to Liz on top of the bridge.  From there we did a mini engagement session in the park.

Downtown Charleston Engagement Session | Rachel + Brad

These two are a perfect match.  One of those couples that are so love it almost makes you blush.  Rachel and Brad are having a destination wedding this spring, and they traveled to Charleston for their engagement session.

Brad and Rachel are good friends of ours and before we set out for downtown Charleston, they let me experiment with my “fog in a can” in the studio.

unitarian church graveyard engagement session

We started in the graveyard of the Unitarian Church downtown.  Even though it was winter, we found a few flowering trees.

Brad said “should I point out the obvious?”  ha ha!  Ironically, I’m photographing Andrew and Heidi’s wedding in Jackson Hole, WY in September.
